Ten years

Ten years ago, I walked down the aisle to meet you and into the beginning of my life.

The night we met was almost magical. Within a few days, I knew that we were meant to be together. Never had I met anyone more honest, more giving, and more open with their heart. You took my wounded soul and made it breathe and sing again. Loving you was so easy and effortless that it surprised me at times. Where was all the drama, the angst, the heartbreak?

There wasn’t any. You accepted me for who I was, and made me know that I was loved.

We started out with nothing. With a lot of hard work and luck, we’ve built a future together and a loving home for our son. He is the greatest gift of all from our marriage. When I watch the two of you together, I can’t think of anyone that I would rather share this life with than you.

This last year has been tough. Even when I didn’t think that I could go on, you helped me see that things would get better no matter how dark times were. You have been my rock through it all and for that I can never thank you enough. If I could love you one-tenth as much as you have loved me for the last 12 years, I would feel a major sense of accomplishment.

So where do we go from here? I have no idea. All I know is that I feel fortunate to be holding your hand as we continue on our journey together.

I love you, honey.

Happy anniversary. You are such a cute couple--I don't know if I've ever seen a picture of big Joey before. Hope that the next 10 are as sweet.

That was very poetic and nice. May you celebrate many more "10's".
