Everyone's a critic

Saturday morning, we were headed out of town and needed to stop at Food Lion to procure some Mother’s Day cards for my mother-in-law (yes, I know, there was no way that they were going to make it there in time but she should be used to this from Joey by now). I had to make an ATM run so Joey hopped out of the Tahoe, I jumped in the driver’s seat and took off to get some cash and then swing back by and pick him up. Monkey Man was in full effect:

MM: Where’s Daddy?

Me: He ran into Food Lion to get some cards for Granny.

MM: Where are we going?

Me: To the ATM to get some cash for our trip.

MM: Do you know how to drive this thing?

Me: Of course I do! You know I’ve driven Daddy’s Tahoe before!

MM: Well, I heard that you crash into things. A lot.

Hurumph. Backseat driver. Good thing he doesn't know about me almost flipping my car three weeks ago on my way to work....

LOL! If it's any consolation, here are some things my munchkin has said to me in the car:

"Mommy, you're going too fast! You have to go the street limit!" (and yes, she says street limit, and argues with me when I try to explain it's "speed" limit)

"Mommy, stop driving like a crazy woman!!" (said with dh in the car, who about died laughing)

Gotta love those backseat drivers!

Can totally identify, I regularly get asked when we are going somewhere...do you know where you are going? I don't think this is the right way! Have a little faith, please?

I get, 'Mommy, the light is red. Can you see? Mommy, the light is red. It's red, Mommy. Okay, now it's green.'
