Lonely is the night

And it's nice. Really nice.

Joey has disappeared for the night to watch his beloved Hokies play. In an hour, Monkey Man will go off to bed and I will eat chocolate pudding and watch porn.

Just kidding. About the pudding. That would be bad for my diet.

Yesterday was such a colossally bad day that I didn't even have the strength to write about it. Want to hear the Cliff Notes version of it?

6:30 AM: Tell grumpy child that he must eat something that we have in the house for breakfast because Mommy doesn't have time to take him to Burger King. He agrees.
6:45 AM: Leave house with allegedly happy child.
7:02 AM: Leave daycare, leaving behind crying child who has decided that he really does want Burger King after all. Call husband and rant and rave for 20 minutes about how "today's kids are spoiled."
7:28 AM: Arrive at Weight Watchers. Wait behind three people - two are new registers, one is an old lady who wants to discuss her neighbor's gallbladder surgery. Get agitated that old people are allowed out before 9 AM. Finally get on scale, clerk announces that I have gained weight. I tell her that there is no way in hell that I have gained weight since I weighed before showering and I have definitely lost. Get off the scale, get back on and get a reading of "ambiguous weight." Hop back off, get back on, and finally emerge victorious.
7:50 AM: Skulk into work 20 minutes late. Realize that I have a doctor's appointment down by my house at 11 AM which means I will have to leave work around 10:30 to get there and drive like a maniac.
10:25 AM: Skulk back out of the office and drive like a madwoman to the doctor. Run in, sign in at 11:00. Wait five minutes in the waiting room, get ushered back to the exam room where I get nekkid and such and then...
11:50 AM: The damn doctor finally comes in. I am frozen. She and I proceed to have a bitter argument about the damn IUD I've been trying for 3 months to get and why in the fuck I need another "consultation" before I can put it in. Finally finish up, and now it's...
12:15 PM: Race like a madwoman up to Monkey Man's school to finally drop off his EpiPen for any "just in case" reactions. Wait for nurse practicioner and finally she brings another pile of paperwork that has to be filled out. Discover that doctor's order also lists to try Benedryl, which I didn't bring. So that will require another trip to school. Dammit.
12:40 PM: Get back in the car, proceed to drive back to office. The damn rain starts to pour like nobody's business, and this is where at...
12:52 PM: I have a near-death experience, spinning my car on the highway. Curse husband for not replacing tires a week ago when we were told they needed replacing. Drive white-knuckled back to work where...
1:25 PM: I finally skulk back in the door with my heart pounding and feeling sick to my stomach. Call aforementioned husband and tell him that if my tires aren't replaced by the time he leaves for the football game that I will be absconding with the Pimp Mobile, leaving him to tailgate with the very uncool Mommobile. So then at...
2:30 PM: The husband shows up to take my car away. I am eating lunch at this point (finally) and trying to work on billings. Everything goes smoothly until...
3:45 PM: EPOD comes up with a few demands, which of course have to be done before I can leave and I HAVE to leave at 4:00 to...
4:45 PM: Pick up the boys at Mad Science and then take them for pizza.

And yes, Alexander made it unscathed again this week. Or at least I'm assuming he was even there.

So tonight, it's just me, myself and I. And it will be good.
