I hate leftovers

As in leftover fried brain and exhaustion.

We rolled back in from Chattanooga this morning around 1 AM.

Nick finally fell asleep around 3 AM after howling in protest at his sleeping arrangement.

He slept in the guestroom bed with me.

I KNOW. I WILL LIVE TO REGRET IT.

I'm still feeling kind of foggy, and a little stressed out over trying to keep Rufus happy while this interloper has come into his home. It's about to worry Monkey Man to death because he wanted there to be rainbows and unicorns and two corgis holding paws and skipping into the sunset. Yeah, it will probably never happen, because corgis can't skip. Overall though, Rufus has exceeded our expectations for coexisting peacefully with Nick.

And Nick is just the sweetest, sweetest thing ever. I emailed Janet today to let her know how happy we are to have him.

Here's hoping to get some sleep, because I know tomorrow I'm going to actually have to have some brain cells available for my job.

Oh boy. When I got JF home, I crated him at night next to my bed and dangled my hand over the side so he could smell me. He whined some, but settled after a few shooshes. I know all pups are different though.
Hope you *all* get some sleep tonight. I bet after a couple days, Monkey Man will get his puppy rainbow. :)

What fun! It's all worth it isn't it!? The house training is the hardest for us. The Bear used the doggie door about the 3rd day he was home but he still heads to the back bedrooms if I don't catch him. He doesn't associate it yet with duty, only to following Buddy. Sleeping isn't an issue because we don't use a crate. We break the rules! Looking forward to hearing more about his antics.

Congrats on the new addition! I look forward to hearing stories of Nick's puppyhood!

Maybe every puppy should come w/ a gift card to Starbucks so the humans can stay awake after no sleep...?
