I probably was a guy in a past life.
I have no problem appreciating men other than my husband. They don't necessarily have to be sexy or hot. Funny, smart, and interesting are just as hot to me as being built like a brick shithouse.
Today I was at lunch with my peeps and spied some guys from one of our subcontractors eating lunch at an adjacent table. Okay, that's a lie - I saw them walking in from the parking lot and one of the guys immediately caught my attention. Dark, brooding, and dangerous looking. We exchanged a few glances across the restaurant during lunch and then the guys got up and left. The girls had been watching the entire cat and mouse thing all the time.
"God," said one of the younger women, "Don't you feel guilty when you think thoughts like that?"
Um, no. I feel HUMAN.
Let's face facts. I'm married to a great guy. He's my best friend, a wonderful husband, a great dad. We've been married more than ten years. So does that mean I can't appreciate a good-looking man? I'm married, not dead. Geez.
We all know that men check out women all the time. (Back me up, G-man!) So why is it wrong for women to check men out? It's not like I'm looking for a replacement model. I'm just appreciating the scenery. Just like guys do. Sometimes I dream about guys and their forearms - one of the sexiest parts on a man in my opinion. Droool.
So shoot me. Like I said, I was probably a guy in my past life. Now excuse me while I scratch my balls.

By the way, I realized that I had never given the answer to the 9 truths and a lie post from a few days ago.
I used to want to be a dentist, not a veterinarian.
Although I'm a little surprised that y'all thought it was the speeding tickets. And now I have probably seriously jinxed myself.

I'm definitely with you on the appreciation gig. Hun doesn't care. In return, I promptly inform him when breasts appear on television or there is an interesting pair walking down the street. He says I'm allowed to have sex with Ed Norton should the situation present itself. It's all good.
There's something to be said about appreciating the human form...
i keep my looking quiet around ben, since my sisters have already started goading him that when he hits 30, i'll probably trade him in for a younger model. geez, if that were my MO, i'd be dating high school kids by the time i'm 50...
I got your back Liz. Yup, it may not be well known but guys do check out women, oddly with the same caveat, I'm involved, not dead. When in groups there can be lengthy discussions on the anatomical appreciation of women that come within the visual range of the group. Should there be none within sight, then the discussion can carry over into celebrities or women known to one or more of the men in group.
Like Joansy, Heather will occasionally point out a mutant rack or something. And I personally don't have any qualms about her checking out other guys.
Last night I stopped mid sentance at kickball when one of the players on the other team caught my eye. People who know me noticed and laughed. Not much stops me from talking....
Yup. Bryan and I pick out the good *and* the bad for each other.
