It's going to be a loooooong day. And it's only 9 AM.
This is Monkey Man's third day at home. It's been cold as shit so he hasn't been going outside to play (especially since he has developed a cough yet again). It's Easter and he is already hyped up after eating a few of those candy-coated Hershey's Kissables. For example, he almost knocked our couch over about five minutes ago, bringing back memories of last year's disasterous, sugar-laced Mother's Day Tea at The World's Most Expensive Preschool. His Easter joy lasted approximately eight minutes before he started making demands - when are we going to wrestle? When are we going to play Sonic? Why can't we go outside? Why, why, why?
Put all of these things together and you know that today will be the verbal equivalent of Chinese water torture. And I would bet dollars to donuts that he won't take a nap today, so no midday break.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. We are taking him this morning to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. God help me. I would rather poke my eyes out with a steel spike than sit through this movie, but I figure that maybe I'll luck out like Dad Gone Mad and he will pass out and we can sit there enjoying not being peppered with demands and questions every two seconds.
I can always hope, right? Um, right?

Yup, sucks to be you, Happy Easter!
Happy Easter!!!
My dad took my boys to see TMNT yesterday. They loved it!
As I type this, my boys are tearing up my house. I am nearing the edge of sanity. Soon I will be hiding in my closest wondering why the Bunny keeps bringing candy! Ack!
I had no idea there was a TMNT movie. Clueless me. Hope you have a great and relaxing day.
