We're home.
His tonsils were huge. Like something you'd see in a horror movie. And the doctor told us that he can safely say that if we hadn't had them removed this quickly, we most certainly would have had to go back to the hospital. They were That Bad.
Oh, and did I mention that his adenoids, which were removed in August 2005 had grown back some too? So those had to be removed. Again.
So far he's had a few popsicles, some soup, applesauce, a banana, and some soft bread. He is starving. And has already asked for a Pop Tart, which is on the No Eat list. This is going to be fun. Not.
Joey is on his way from CVS where in true form they fucked up the prescriptions for all Monkey Man's stuff. And of course, we needed the stuff to give him by 2:15 to keep the level of painkillers constant.
So there's that.
I am hoping he'll nap soon - we need to get the pain meds in, let him sit up for a while, and then get him settled in for a nap. So I can have a nap. Really, it's all about me.
Tonight remains to be seen - I think we will be letting him dress up and maybe hand out some candy. We don't get many kids at the door, so that should take a whopping 30 minutes at most. And once the word gets out that one of the treats I'm handing out are little bags of pretzels, I'm sure our house will get egged. Not that I would know anything about kids that do that kind of stuff.
Thanks for all the PV's, prayers, e-mails, phone calls, and support. Now, off to dose the kid up.

Oh Liz. I hope he feels better soon! Keep the painkillers up... You know where to reach me if you want to talk...
I hope things go smoothly. With little ones there is always the anticipation of what COULD happen. And, I'll keep my fingers crossed for no eggs. It's not like you're giving out boxes of raisins or anything.
Hope all is well . . .
Thinking of you all . . .
