Survival of the Fittest

Or maybe not so fit.

I survived the 10K. Did pretty well until about 5 miles in when I started getting blisters from my stupid Underarmour socks not covering my achilles tendon well enough to keep my sneakers from rubbing every so slightly. Remind me again why I like those socks? At least my feet don't stink after wearing them.

The weather was gorgeous today - 70 degrees, the trees were blooming and the sun was shining. I can't think of a better way to spend the day than I did with the girls today. Well, other than the shoe sale at Nordstrom.

Five of us girls did the race - three of us are regular walkers/joggers, the other two are not - but they kicked some serious ass. I hung back with them and we still finished in 1 hour 45 minutes.

I am so tired that my ass hurts. Or more specifically, my hips are absolutely killing me. Off to take a hot shower, pop a few Motrin (like maybe half a bottle) and then out to dinner with Joey. Maybe a good bottle of wine will help ease the pain. Or maybe if my head hurts really badly tomorrow I won't notice how bad my ass hurts.
